About this role

We’re looking for a Managed Services Support Intern to join our growing team in Century City, Cape Town. 

 

This internship is designed for individuals who have a Matric qualification and a passion for technology, even if you haven’t had the opportunity to pursue a formal degree.

 

At CyberIAM, we believe in developing talent from the ground up. You’ll receive hands-on training in Managed Services, along with structured learning in Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Privileged Access Management (PAM). Our goal is to equip you with valuable technical and professional skills for a long-term career in cybersecurity.

Key Responsibilities

As a Managed Services Support Intern at CyberIAM, you will:

  • Provide first-line support to our clients, assisting with technical issues and troubleshooting requests.
  • Work closely with the Managed Services team to deliver service excellence to clients across the UK and Europe.
  • Assist with system monitoring, user administration, and access management tasks.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and resolve technical challenges efficiently.
  • Learn and apply new technologies as part of your structured training and mentorship.

What we’re looking for

You don’t need a degree! What matters most is curiosity, drive, and the right attitude.

You’ll be a great fit if you:

 

  • Have basic programming experience (e.g., Python, Java, or C#).
  • Are interested in cybersecurity, AI, and learning how technology keeps organisations secure.
  • Are a problem-solver who enjoys figuring things out.
  • Have strong communication skills and work well in a team.
  • Are eager to learn, grow, and take initiative in a fast-paced environment.
  • Are open to working occasional shift work to support international clients.
  • It’s a bonus if you have studied Information Technology (IT) as a subject up to Matric.

What you bring to the table

  • A Matric qualification (formal tertiary education not required).
  • Basic experience with programming languages and an interest in coding.
  • A positive attitude, strong aptitude, and eagerness to learn.
  • Enthusiasm for building a career in Managed Services and cybersecurity.
  • Curiosity and a willingness to embrace new technologies and challenges.

Alex is the Chief Technology Officer at CyberIAM, where he is currently spearheading the delivery of cutting-edge software solutions. With over 21 years of experience in the software engineering field, he has spent the last 15 years exclusively in the Cyber Security IAM industry. Alex has vast experience working with high-availability systems that handle millions of records and hundreds of thousands of users, in addition to his proficiency in a variety of other software solutions for cloud applications, enterprise systems, integration layers, and mobile apps. He has led the development of bespoke IAM solutions, as well as integration layers to bridge multiple vendor technologies together.
