In a time of hype around Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Robots, it’s sometimes hard to remember the original methodology we were taught in IT the KISS method (Keep It Simple Stupid).

This may sound controversial but in the Access Management industry, whether it is Access Governance or Privilege Access Management, the reality is application and platform connector components has not taken enough advantage of modern day cloud technology.

70% of applications are connected to IGA Identity Access Governance Solutions via CSV file feeds. Connectivity to legacy and modern cloud applications is very complicated and often requires highly skilled identity developers to connect these applications.This current process is both cumbersome and costly with a low success rate. Machine learning and AI requires large amounts of data and large amounts of changes to that data to start seeing real value.

The short term approach should be to simplify, standardize and accelerate the onboarding of applications and platforms to these Identity solutions to take advantage of the AI capabilities. The strategic direction requires a modern smart technology to automate connectivity to applications and systems through no code implementation.
